Description

In early 1970s, several high profile vampire cases had plagued the world. An immortal count set up shop in San Francisco. A resurrected African prince terrorized the Los Angles urban community. Vampires integrated themselves into hippy cults and Dracula himself, the high lord of all undead, recently reappeared in England, threatening the world twice.

Supernatural activity was on the rise. SIEL was needed once again. Under the command of John P. Keel, a reporter famous for investigating supernatural events in rural West Virginia, a new league was formed.

Led by Kolchak, a reporter who had grappled with numerous threats all over the country, the team was assembled. A teenage boy with a psychic sway over rodents and an immortal, undead mad scientist recently discovered in a secret cavern in Egypt were the first recruits, though both rather reluctantly. A hotheaded San-Fran cop who had recently taken down a serial killer, unaware that he was possessed by a Satanic entity, proved the most difficult member to take in. The granddaughter of Lorrimor Van Helsing was the final member recruited. The latest in the vampire hunting line, Jessica was also discovered to be the most recent incarnation of the Slayer, another vampire hunting lineage.

Together, the group cracked down on a vampire invasion of New York, with a little help from detective John Shaft. Soon, Kolchak discovered that SIEL itself had been compromised. Head officer John Agroy was actually vampire Count Yorga in disguise. The mission to eliminate the undead threat was actually a scheme to take down enemies of the Brotherhood of Blood, a great vampire congress. Following Yorga back to Romania, the team discovered ancient vampire lord Count Orlok was the originator behind the conspiracy. After a long fight, the day was saved. Following Yorga's death, expert in rocket science, teleportation, and dimensional travel, Dr. Everett Von Scott was installed as head of SIEL.

The group went their separate ways for four years. Kolchak continued his work with the INS. Stiles settled down, got married, fathered a child, started a company. Callahan dealt with a group of vigilante cops and a kidnapping case. Phibes and Van Helsing remained at SIEL, researching and doing field work. Jessica honed her latent skills as a Slayer.

In 1976, the team was called back together. A conflict between two Satanic cults threatens to bring about the end of the world. One, led by undead priest Corbis, believed Adrian Woodhouse to be the Antichrist while a rival cult had put their faith in little Damian Thorn, recently adopted by the US Ambassador to Britain. The group was assisted by New York cop and half-alien psychic Peter Nicholas during this case. The incident climaxed with an avatar of Satan himself walking the Earth, claiming the lives of two of the team members. Banished back to Hell, the true Antichrist decided, the team managed to prevent any future attempts to bring about Armageddon. At least for the time being.

Following the desolation of the team, Kolchak returned to reporting, Callahan was memory wiped and placed back at San Francisco while Jessica Van Helsing took an administrative position with SIEL, mentoring the next generation of Slayers.

Absolutely love the group, and I love the narrative as you constructed it! Definitely one of the best (and certainly most detailed) fan-made leagues that I’ve ever seen 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
