Description

(So this is something I work on for when not focusing on more important projects. It's basically glorified fan fiction.)

Over the decades, a secret division of the US government has called together groups of extraordinary individuals when our world is threatened by the supernatural. In early 1985, one of the longest lasting and most effective versions was assembled. Composed of one of the last immortals in the world, a teenage girl with powerful telekinetic abilities kept on ice since the late seventies, one of the core members of a New York team of parapsychologist, a rogue mad scientist, and a time traveling mall clerk, taking their orders from Dr. Sam Loomis and his assistant Regan McNeil, the 1985 version of SIEL battled numerous paranormal threats.

- A mad mortician, in the service of higher evil powers, unleashed an army of resurrected slasher serial killers. This proved to be the first step in a plan to unleash the same zombie virus that destroyed Louisville, Kentucky the previous year.

- While in Ohio investigating sightings of the spirit of Samhain, Carrie became the target of a serial killer that haunts people in their dreams. With help from a dream-exploring psychic, the group eventually trapped the killer in the dream country of Kadath.

- A corpse discovered in the Arctic and moved to a small Canadian town unleashes an alien threat capable of copying any living being's genetic structure. Herbert West proved himself a worthy member of the team during this dangerous mission.

- Stranded in the Texas desert, Connor, Ray, and West found themselves battling the ghost of a murderous hitchhiker. Now a powerful wraith, this ghost commanded a trio of evil phantom vehicles, including a self-propelled Plymouth Fury, a demonic black car, and a similarly satanic black pickup truck. The immortal found himself questioning his world-view during this mission.

- Ash, Carrie, and SIEL agent Regan McNeil traveled to Ferren Woods, Georgia, to investigate reports of a vengeance demon summoned from the local pumpkin patch. Mr. Williams confronted his own blood lust at the same time.

- The reformed group traveled to Tromaville, New Jersey to team up with the town's monster hero and battle mutations from the local high school. Being most familiar with the area, Dr. Ray Stantz became the unlikely leader of the group on this mission.

- Finally, after SIEL scientists unlocked the secrets of the Lament Configuration, the team was separated and exiled to different Hell dimensions. Ash and West worked through their own personal traumas while investigating someplace Beyond human's senses. Connor and Ray survived a hell ruled over by the sadistic spectre of a Brazilian mortician. Meanwhile, Carrie was tortured and transformed by the Cenobites of the Labyrinth. Changed by her experience, Carrie was then unleashed on Earth. No longer human and wielding massive destructive powers, the rest of SIEL was forced to turn against their former teammate.

Following these traumatic events, the team was decommissioned by head SIEL executive, Dr. Henry Jones Jr. Connor went on to win the coveted Prize. Ray returned to New York to find his business beset by massive law suites. West was memory-wiped and placed in Peru, where he rekindled a friendship with a former college and returned to his research. Dr. Loomis returned to Haddonfield, IL to watch over his most famous patient. Ash found himself back at S-Mart, regaling unbelieving coworkers of his adventures, hopelessly waiting for another cal to heroism.

This was neither the first, nor the last, collection of heroes and villains assembled by SIEL.

absolutely love this, especially the climactic finale with Carrie going all Dark Phoenix on everyone!

in your stories, is the implication that the Cenobites dimension is somehow linked to the Dreamworld of Freddie Kruger and also the Tall-Man’s home planet?
